Welcome
Welcome to Brent who has started at our school in R3. We also welcome his family to our school community.

Rainbow Class
Our transition to school class for 4 year olds which is taken by our new entrant teacher, Mrs Will, is being held this Thursday from 1.15 to 2.45pm in R11. If you have a 4 year old who would like to join this class please contact Mrs Will or the office.

Wheels Days
This Friday lunchtime is the turn of the junior classes to ride their bikes,
scooters, skateboards etc. Children who bring their bikes will need to wear a
helmet. A helmet is optional for scooters or skateboards.

Assembly
Assembly will be held in the hall this Friday at 2.20pm. It will be led by R3 with items by Rooms 2 and 11. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

Anniversary Day
School will be closed on Monday 26 March to observe Otago Anniversary Day.

Scholastic Book Club
Leaflets for Issue 2 have been sent home. Orders with money need to be in by next Wednesday 28 March. Please make cheques payable to Scholastic NZ.

Smart Food School Lunches
Smart Food lunches are available on Mondays and Thursdays at NEVNS. The cost is $3.50or $4.50 for a larger lunch with two extra sandwiches. Orders and money need to be in to the School Office by 9am.

Road Patrol
The road patrollers need supervision on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. If you are able to help between 3-3.15pm please contact Mrs Staynes or the office.

Flippaball Results
On Sunday, competing in the semi finals, the senior Gold team won 8 goals to 0. The junior Silver team won 9 goals to 2. Mrs Hesson reports that both teams played really well! Well done to the Silver team has qualified for the final to be held in a fortnight. There is no flippaball this weekend.

Coffee and Catch Up
All parents/caregivers are invited to get together for a coffee and catch up before assembly this Friday 23 March at 1.30pm in the staffroom. Come along and get to know more of the NEV Normal community!

PTA News
Easter Raffle
Thank you to everyone who has donated items that can be used as prizes in the raffle; it is with your help that this raffle becomes a great fundraiser. We would also like to thank the major sponsors of prizes – Kathy Clark (Yard Art Otago Ltd), Orokonui Ecosanctuary, Filadelfio’s Restaurant and Moana Pool. Families should have received their raffle cards by now – if not or if you want another card – there are spare raffle cards in the office. Raffle cards and money need to be into the office by Wednesday 28th March. Winners will be drawn on Monday 2nd April.

PTA Meeting
The next meeting will be held this Thursday 22nd March, at 3.20pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Alhambra Rugby Union Junior Pre-season Training. Opoho grounds @ 4pm this Wednesday 21st March. For those who have already registered and for those who would like to register or even for those that are thinking about it. Come and meet the coaches and have a run around. See you there. Join ex All Black and Highlanders record point scorer Tony Brown, ex Highlanders captain John Leslie and our team of qualified coaches for a full day of challenging rugby skills and drills under the roof and on the Forsyth Barr Stadium pitch.
