Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

On Saturday a hard working group of PTA members provided a BBQ lunch for the North Otago vintage car club. It was a very enjoyable occasion and we thank the PTA for all their hard work in making the lunch a successful fundraiser.

If your child is playing in the school grounds during out of school hours they should be supervised. There have been some incidents lately that have caused concern. We encourage people to use the grounds as they are a lovely community asset, but like to ensure that they are kept that way and that all children are safe.

Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Last week we had a visit from Shane Winterton, who is the Ministry of Education national facilitator for the PB4L (positive behaviour for learning) initiative.

He was very impressed by a number of things about our school. He thought we had beautiful grounds and was amazed by the amount of room children had for playing. Thanks to Mr Harvey for the effort he puts into the upkeep of the gardens and lawns.

Shane also commented on the lovely behaviour the children displayed at morning tea time. It was a pleasure to show him the bright attractive classrooms. Well done teachers for creating superb learning centres.

All in all I felt proud showing him around our school.

Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Welcome to our College teachers as they begin their final posting. They have interesting programmes prepared.

Yesterday a group of children went to the Caledonian ground to participate in the North Zone athletics sports. Mrs Hesson said everyone tried hard, performed well and were well behaved. Thank you to the parents and caregivers who provided transport and support to the children. Ellie Bardsley came 4th in the girls U11 long jump and 4th in her heat for U11 girls 75m and 5th in the 800m. She has qualified for the 800m in the Otago Championships to be held on 16 November. Well done Ellie!

It was a lovely day for the children to have fun jumping in the Jump Rope for heart. This was such a good way to raise money for the Heart Foundation. Thank you to the many children who brought their gold coin to school today. Thanks to Miss Ballantine for organising this event.
