Newsletter 14 April 2011

14 April 2011 Term 1 Week 11 11/8

Dear Parents & Caregivers

Thanks to families for the support lately:
A good turn out of parents to discuss our behaviour management system;
A lot of parents cheering on the runners at the cross country on Friday;
All the goodies donated for the Easter Raffle and all the raffle tickets sold.

Our children benefit from parents and caregivers contribution to school events and projects.

Of course supporting sometimes seems to be a neverending journey - the first 2 weeks of next term are devoted to swimming lessons each morning. We need helpers for this really important time so please let your classroom teacher know if you will be available to assist.

On behalf of the staff I would like to wish all school families a happy Easter and a restful and safe school holidays.

John McKenzie
Principal

School Banking with NZCU South
At the start of T2 we will be starting school banking for the children. We hope this will encourage the children to develop good saving habits. Someone from NZCU South will be at the first assembly of the term along with their mascot “Jimmy J”, to talk about what this will involve. We encourage parents and caregivers to come along and listen to this new initiative and enrol at the same time. More information will follow.

PTA Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday May 10th at 3.15pm. All are welcome to attend.

A Wedding at NEV Normal
Maybe a first for the school hall, which was used in March to celebrate the marriage of Lynley Masters and Luke Percy. Lynley and Luke chose this venue as they had met when they both attended NEV Normal in the early 1990’s!
