Newsletter 8 July 2013

8 July 2013    Term 2 Week 10         13/21

Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Behaviour Management Support
Mrs Staynes organised a behaviour management workshop last term for parents. The turn out was dismal! Never mind, homes are busy places and it is hard to find time for all the demands on families.

We have designed some support material for parents around behaviour. These include a star chart with stickers which help focus children on positive behaviour at home. These are Free! Come and get yours from the office.

National Standards Report
The teachers are currently completing the mid-year National Standards reports. These will be available to view at parent/teacher interviews in Week 2 of next term. We have listened to the suggestions made when we surveyed parents earlier in the year and this time around children will not attend the parent/teacher interviews. Let’s see how this works.

Kia Kaha tatou Katoa ki te tautoko o tatou tamariki, mokopuna hoki.
John McKenzie
Principal

School Photos
This Wednesday McRobie Studio is coming to school to take class and individual photos. There is also an opportunity for sibling and family photographs to be taken. A form is attached to be completed if you wish to have sibling and/or family photos, which needs to be returned to school tomorrow. Please let the office know if you do not want your child to be photographed as an individual.

Wheels Days
This Friday lunchtime is the turn of the junior classes to ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards etc at school. Children who bring their bikes will need to wear a helmet. It is recommended that children wear a helmet when riding their scooters or skateboards.
