Newsletter 7 June 2011

7 June 2011 Term 2 Week 6 11/12

Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Education Review Office
The school had its triennial review last week - our last review was four years ago.

The review went extremely well. The reviewers told the Board members: -
the children are getting a good deal;
the children have an enthusiasm for learning;
the professionalism of the teachers is evident;
teachers make really good use of achievement data;
the children are cared for, valued and supported;
children are achieving at or above expectation.

The reviewers highlighted: -
effective leadership - reflective and collaborative;
the Board’s considered approach to decision-making;
the community feel of the school;
the ‘open-door’ policy and the ‘openness’ and welcoming nature of the school;
College of Education students are beneficial to the children;
the quality of relationships between teachers and pupils.

The list goes on! The only issue they want the Board to address is setting of targets against the National Standards.

Well done to all!

Kia Kaha tatou Katoa ki te tautoko o tatou tamariki, mokopuna hoki.

John McKenzie
Principal
