Newsletter 12 October 2010

12 October 2010 Term 4 Week 1 10/30

Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Welcome back to Term 4 and a special welcome to new pupils and families. The term starts off with a special emphasis on healthy living and exercise - Jump Rope, Swimming, Athletics and Oral Health Week.

Oral Health Week
Next week our school along with 8 other local schools and early childhood centres will be involved in an Oral Health Week.

This involves each child being asked to lift their lip so a dental student can have a quick look at their teeth. Apparently a lot of information can be gained about general dental health from this simple check up. Following this a photo will be taken of their
smiling face which will form part of a mural - used to celebrate healthy smiles.

Colgate have generously donated a tooth brush and tube of tooth paste for each child.

If you do not want your child to be involved in the check-up or photo, please let the office know.

The school dental therapist, Samantha Lester and dental assistant Tina are onsite at the dental clinic to carry out the usual dental health checkups on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays this term. Maybe this week would be an opportunity to reinforce healthy dental routines with your child.

Ma te Atua e mannaaki tiaki tatau katoa.
